Happy New Year
Happy New Year from us all at TS Mortgage Specialists!
We all had a lovely time over the festive period, and we are now well rested and eager to start 2026 with a bang.
2025 saw us working with lots of fabulous new clients while continuing our great relationship with existing clients. We have provided a top-level service and mortgage advice to clients who are first time buyers, homeowners remortgaging, homeowners who are moving and people buying property as part of a portfolio. It has been an absolute pleasure to meet with everyone.
Looking back to assess the year behind us we feel it has been much more positive than some predictions early in 2025. The Bank of England slowly cut interest rates throughout the year, aiming at supporting slower economic growth and easing inflation. The year then ended with the base rate at 3.75%. As a result of the cuts and pressure building between competition, mortgage rates have gradually fallen and are now at a 3-year low. The year of 2025 has seen some much more borrower friendly options.
So, what lies ahead for 2026? We are already seeing some 2 & 5 year fixed deals with lower rates than what we’ve seen since before 2022. Some forecasts are predicting further cuts to the base rate which will lead to further cuts in lenders interest rates. The lower rates will encourage some homebuyers back into the market and boosting refinancing. House price growth has slowed but remained relatively stable with early indications of a rise in 2026 as affordability improves and lower mortgage costs.
TS Mortgage Specialists have started 2026 continuing to build on our established high standards as first class mortgage brokers and in the first week back we have had some great meetings, discussions and achievements within the team. Our aim during 2026 is to build on our knowledge, increase client & Business2Business relationships and to continue saving you time and stress during the mortgage process.
